We are Steve and Michelle Cox. We live in Pagosa Springs, Colorado with a menagerie of horses, dogs, and our mini pig Noodles. Yes, that is where the name of this blog came from. Noodles is very curious and very outspoken. She gives commentary on how she feels about everything from the weather (she is not a fan of snow and HATES the rain) to a good belly rub. She loves to explore.
In August of 2018 we bought a wonderful two story cabin on the side of a mountain, and moved the menagerie and our friend Tina to Pagosa Springs. Tina rents the upstairs apartment at the cabin and takes care of things while we travel.
As we enter this stage of our lives we realize there is more time behind us than there is ahead. We are both in our 60’s with all the aches and pains that come with age, but we are determined to do what we can. We aren’t going to be climbing Mt. Everest, but hopefully we can cruise along for a few more miles!
Steve is originally from Muscle Shoals, AL and still has family and friends there. His work took him all over the country. He graduated from the University of North Alabama with a math and science major, and lived in various parts of the country while working. He has been a pilot for most of his life and is interested in the weather and the WHY and HOW of things. He is the detail and safety guy. He enjoys the outdoors, horseback riding, fishing and camping. Playing Pickleball keeps him busy and in shape (along with his daily regimen of push ups and pull ups)
Michelle was born in Guam but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She started a national surety bond agency at 24, sold it in the 90’s and in 2000 bought the martial arts school where she had received her black belt in 1978. After operating Little Rock Martial Arts for ten years, she sold it in 2010 and moved to Colorado with Steve. She practices yoga, horseback rides, writes, hikes, and cooks.
